Our Mission
It’s all too easy to think that a person who a person in poverty or a person who truly needs help with financial matters just needs to pick up the phone and call the nearest financial planner. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. Many people in poverty don’t see a way out and wouldn’t call any financial planner. Price is also a significant barrier to financial planning services. Many people are also not aware that a financial planner could do anything for them.
Even when they do reach out for help, thousands of people live in rural areas and must drive several hours and perhaps more than a hundred miles to the closest major town to find a financial planner. Communities such as those found in rural Appalachia are vastly underserved. Zacchaeus Financial Counseling, Inc. is going to the need, not waiting for the need to come to us. We are committed to overcoming the barriers to providing services in rural communities and making financial planning accessible and affordable to everyone who needs it.
Our mission is simple: Zacchaeus Financial Counseling, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will provide professional financial and tax services to individuals and families regardless of their ability to pay.
What Does It Cost?
We offer services on a pro bono and sliding scale fee basis. This ensures that everyone who needs our services can access us affordably.
